We are currently recruiting in St. John’s, NL for the position of:

Program Supervisor, Family Based Care

6 Month Full Time Contract Position

The Program Supervisor will provide comprehensive flexible support and supervision to front-line Child and Youth Care Workers and Family Based Carers in specialized living arrangements for young people with complex needs. The Program Supervisor will oversee the development and implementation of the therapeutic program, assess, and monitor the continued suitability and competence of Carers ensuring they provide a safe, healthy, nurturing and learning environment for children and young people. The Program Supervisor will also liaise with other professionals and the community to provide clinical intervention and support of children, youth, and families, and other duties and responsibilities as required.

Education & Experience:

To be successful in this role, the candidate is required to have:

  • A Bachelor/Master’s Degree of Social Work (BSW or MSW) or related discipline
  • A minimum of five (5) years experience working with young people/adults with emotional/behavioural difficulties and/or developmental disabilities in residential care or foster care
  • A minimum of one (1) supervisory experience
  • Experience working with young people who have experienced trauma and/or who demonstrate aggressive behavior will be considered an asset

This position requires a clear Certificate of Conduct, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Child Protection record check. It is also a requirement that the successful candidate(s) holds a valid Driver’s License, clear Drivers Abstract, possesses current and valid Standard First Aid/CPR, and can submit valid proof of residency.
