Key Assets provides specialized care and support services to young people and families with complex needs. Working in partnership with statutory bodies Key Assets strives to develop and offer a range of creative services for children, youth and families to meet their specific needs and deliver positive outcomes. We are a growing company seeking a talented Director of Finance and Business Support Systems. The job location is flexible, either Toronto, Ontario or St. John’s Newfoundland and Labrador.

Director of Finance and Business Support Systems
(Permanent Full Time Position)

As the Director of Finance and Business Support Systems, you will provide oversight of the financial and business support systems for Key Assets (KA) Canada. You will ensure financial and legal compliance with all legislative requirements under non- profit and charity legislation in Canada. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will guide and support business development and implement accountable and sustainable business practices.

Some of the core duties of this role will include the following:

  • Guide the financial decisions of Key Assets Canada by formulating budgets and developing financial forecasts in line with business plans and company targets.
  • The provision of consistent, robust and expert financial advice to the Chief Executive and other regional directors in achieving budget objectives through monitoring of scheduled expenditures, evaluation of performance, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions where required.
  • Ownership of the annual audit and financial systems as the Key Assets Canada Financial Controller.
  • Preparation of monthly Accounts and liaison with UK Finance Team
  • Supervision of the finance team and development of a high-performance team through effective training, motivation, and communication.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the business by implementing key growth and development areas identified in the business plan.

The Director of Finance and Business Support Systems may be required to travel within Canada and stay overnight when required.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, the candidate will require:

  • A bachelor’s/master’s degree in business
  • CA or CPA designation is mandatory
  • 5+ years experience in a senior financial managerial function
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting practices and procedures, financial principles, and concepts
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage internal and external relationships
  • Advanced computer skills. Knowledge of Sage Accounting software will be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Children’s social services if preferred, but not essential.

This position will require a clear Police Check. It is also a requirement that the successful candidate(s) holds a valid Driver’s License, clear Drivers Abstract, and can submit valid proof of residency.
