Key Assets Canada (KAC) provides family-based and alternate care along with a wide variety of programming and other services to support children, youth, and families. Human Resources Manager – Full Time Position (12-month Maternity Leave)

 

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Human Resources Manager oversees the development and implementation of Human Resources Policies, and Procedures for Key Assets locations in Canada, ensuring that employment processes and practices align with provincial standards and embed the culture and core values of the organization. As part of the Shared Services team, the Human Resources Manager will work with Senior Leadership cultivating knowledge, innovation and learning to contribute to the organizational philosophy and ensure that children, youth, and families remain at the heart of our work. The Human Resources Manager will oversee the team of human resource specialists for Key Assets Canada and ensure the implementation of recruitment and retention strategies, and practices that are equitable, inclusive, and embraces diversity, ensuring that employment practices attract and retain a workforce aligned with the strategic goals of Key Assets Canada.

Some of the core tasks include, but are not limited to:
• In collaboration with the Provincial Director (or designate) for each province, oversee and lead the employee recruitment and hiring process for all staff,
• Ensures that hiring practices and file maintenance align with Employment Legislation and Regulations within each jurisdiction.
• In collaboration with the Provincial Director, support the process around progressive discipline, lay offs and terminations.
• Maintain responsibility for the maintenance, review and revision of the Human Resources Policy and Procedures Manual provincially.
• Work collaboratively with Provincial Directors to ensure compliance with workplace safety legislation, required reporting and return to work processes.
• Remain up to date on legislative changes within each jurisdiction and support Provincial Directors in ensuring compliance and implementation.
• Co-ordinate and ensure the completion of Exit Interviews.

Education & Experience:
To be successful in this role, the candidate is required to have:
• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Business with a focus/concentration in Human Resources Management.
• Minimum of 4 years related work experience in a Human Resources capacity.
• A sound knowledge of various employment laws and practices in all Key Assets Canadian jurisdictions.
• Experience managing direct reports and providing feedback.
• Experience in administration of benefits and other Human Resources programs.
• A Human Resources Designation would be considered an asset.

Additional Requirements:
• Clear Certificate of Conduct
• Valid Driver’s License

Key Assets Canada offers:
• Competitive salary commensurate with education and experience ($72,500 to $90,348)
• Group Health Benefits enrollment (medical, dental, vision etc.) and competitive RRSP contribution matching up to 5% of employee contribution
• Annual leave entitlement of 20 days per year (4 weeks)
• Sick leave entitlement of 7 days per year
