Operations Manager
Permanent Full-time
We are seeking an innovative, creative, and highly organized individual to take a lead role in supporting KANL’s operations in Newfoundland and Labrador. The Operations Manager coordinates and oversees KANL facilities and properties, inventory and procurement, supports operational data capturing, monitoring, and reporting, and engages with the KANL senior leadership team in overall business process improvement initiatives.
Core duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Monitoring KANL day-to-day operations, reporting on performance, and recommending actionable improvements for increasing operational efficiency.
- Overseeing and approving, in collaboration with Finance and KANL’s Inventory Coordinator, expenditures, operational repairs and maintenance, insurances, and security for all vehicles and facilities within the province.
- Providing direction and management support in the areas of renovations and renovation projects. This may include preparing draft cost estimates, project specifications and requirements, drafting project timelines and work schedules, reviewing timelines of construction activities for proper sequencing and ensuring a minimum of delay to the project, soliciting price quotations, and drafting construction contracts.
- Creating and maintaining inventory and procurement records, ensuring availability, accuracy, and integrity of data through regular report generation, review, and updates.
- Coordinating and delegating operational responsibilities to appropriate individuals/positions.
- Coordinating the design, development, testing, deployment, and training for business solutions. This involves business leadership in the development or implementation of new technology and dashboards.
- Supporting project teams and working groups in achieving organizational goals and strategic targets from definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimates, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation.
- Other duties as required.
Desired education, experience, skills, and competencies:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Project Management, or a related field, or a combination of relevant education and experience. A Master’s degree in a relevant field would be considered an asset however is not required.
- Certification in project management, operations management, logistics, or supply chain management is considered an asset however is not required.
Experience:
· A minimum of 2-years of experience in operations management, project management, or a related field, preferably in a similar industry or organization.
· Demonstrated experience in monitoring and improving operational efficiency through data analysis and process optimization.
· Experience in managing renovation projects, including drafting project specifications, timelines, and contracts.
· Familiarity with financial management practices, including overseeing expenditures and collaborating with finance on budgeting and cost control.
· Experience in inventory management and procurement processes, including record-keeping and report generation.
· Experience in coordinating and delegating tasks to team members or other stakeholders.
· Experience in coordinating the development, testing, and deployment of business solutions or technologies.
· Proven ability to support project teams in achieving organizational goals, including defining project scopes, schedules, and implementation plans.
Skills and Competencies:
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for monitoring operations and analyzing data.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with various stakeholders.
· Proficiency in project management tools and software for managing projects and tracking progress.
· Knowledge of procurement processes and inventory management systems.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Leadership skills for providing direction and support to project teams.
· Problem-solving skills for identifying issues and implementing solutions.
· Adaptability and flexibility to respond to changing priorities and environments.
Additional Requirements:
- Clear Certificate of Conduct, Vulnerable Sector Check from RNC/RCMP
- Clear Child Protection record check.
- Valid Newfoundland and Labrador Driver’s License
- Access to a personal vehicle and $2 million business liability
- Ability to provide proof of Covid-19 Vaccinations (2 doses)
- Valid proof of Canadian Residency
KANL offers:
- Competitive salary, commensurate with education and experience (range from ($75,153 to $93,654).
