Key Assets Newfoundland and Labrador (KANL) provides specialized care and support services to young people and families with complex needs. Working in partnership with statutory bodies KANL strives to develop and offer a range of creative services for children, youth, and families to meet their specific needs and deliver positive outcomes. We are currently recruiting in St. John’s, NL for the position of:

Program Supervisor, Family Based Care
Full Time Permanent Position(s)

The Program Supervisor will provide comprehensive flexible support and supervision to front-line Child and Youth Care Workers and Family Based Carers in specialized living arrangements for young people with complex needs. The Program Supervisor will oversee the development and implementation of the therapeutic program, assess, and monitor the continued suitability and competence of Carers ensuring they provide a safe, healthy, nurturing and learning environment for children and young people. The Program Supervisor will also liaise with other professionals and the community to provide clinical intervention and support to children, youth, and families, and other duties and responsibilities as required.

Short-term travel throughout the province may be required.

Education & Experience:To be successful in this role, the candidate is required to have:

  • A Bachelor/Master’s Degree of Social Work (BSW or MSW)
  • A minimum of five (5) years experience as a registered social worker
  • A minimum of five (5) years experience working with young people/adults with emotional/behavioural difficulties and/or developmental disabilities in residential care or foster care
  • A minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience
  • Experience working with young people who have experienced trauma and/or who demonstrate aggressive behavior will be considered an asset

This position requires a clear Certificate of Conduct, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Child Protection record check. It is also a requirement that the successful candidate(s) holds a valid Driver’s License, clear Drivers Abstract, possesses current and valid Standard First Aid/CPR, and can submit valid proof of residency.

  • Competitive salary commensurate with education and experience ($68,509 to $85,375)
