KANL is currently recruiting in St. John’s, NL for the position of:
Manager of Out-Of-Home Care (Permanent Full Time Position)
The Manager of Out-of-Home Care works as a part of the senior management team to:
• Provide direct supervision and support to Program Supervisors for residential care, including responsibility for quarterly supervisions and probationary reviews.
• Lead the development of responsive trauma-informed intervention plans with children and youth and collaborate with program supervisors, children, and youth care staff regarding young people’s individual needs, goals, and objectives.
• Support recruitment, hiring and performance management – in consultation with the Director(s), Program Supervisors and Key Assets Human Resources team.
• Represent Key Assets in community events and/or interagency activities (i.e. case conferences).
• Assist Program Supervisors, Child and Youth Care Staff and Carers to operationalize treatment goals using daily life events and the Neurotransactional assessment framework.
• Ensure Program Supervisors, Carers and Child and Youth Care Staff are adhering to Key Assets reporting and documentation processes including timely completion of quarterly reporting (YVAPP’s, NeuroTransactional Support Plan, IP, ICMP, etc.) and ongoing reporting (Logs, FIR’s, CIR’s, etc.).
• Ensure individual care reflects young people’s needs and service desires.
• Ensure that financial expenditures follow budget guidelines and are accounted for via Key Assets financial management and accountability processes.
Education & Experience:
To be successful in this role, the candidate is required to have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Care or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong preference will be given to candidates who hold a master’s degree.
• A minimum of five (5) years of post-graduate experience working with children and youth with complex emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues is required
• A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory and/or management experience Additional Requirements:
• Clear Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from RNC/RCMP
• Child Protection Clearance Check granting clearance
• Valid Newfoundland and Labrador Driver’s License
• Drivers Abstract
• Current and valid Standard First Aid/CPR certification
• Valid Proof of Canadian Residency
• Access to a personal vehicle and $2 Million Business Liability
