Key Assets Newfoundland and Labrador (KANL) provides family-based and residential care along with a wide variety of programming and other services to support children, youth and families. Working in partnership with statutory bodies, KANL strives to develop creative and innovative programs for the provision of unique and supportive services, tailored to meet the needs of children, youth, and families, and designed to work towards improving outcomes. Manager of Recruitment and Assessment – Permanent Full Time Position

At Key Assets, the Manager of Recruitment and Assessment has primary responsibility for the recruitment and assessment of family-based carers, placement of new children into family-based care homes, and oversight of the intake of all children into the organization. This includes the provision of comprehensive and flexible support and supervision to assessment social workers as required. This position functions as a part of the management team across the organization.

• Oversee the transition from carer recruitment to assessment to approval to matching.
• Develop annual marketing/recruitment plans
• Leading and participating in recruitment initiatives, including community events
• Liase with provincial and regional CSSD staff regarding young people referred for family-based care and residential care.
• Conduct/coordinate initial comprehensive assessment of young people to determine their placement needs.
• Provide direct supervision of Assessment Social Workers and Business Support Officer, including responsibility for monthly supervision, probationary and annual performance reviews.
• Monitor, collect and evaluate data relevant to recruitment, initial visits, assessments, annual reviews, as well as children referred for family-based care (both emergency and long term).
• Ensure the implementation of evidence-based practices by Assessment Social Workers, as well as Carers and Program Supervisors through the annual review process.

Education & Experience:
To be successful in this role, the candidate is required to have:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW), Strong preference will be given to candidates who hold a master’s degree (MSW)
• Must be a current a registered member in good standing with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers (NLCSW)
• A minimum of five (5) years of post-graduate experience working with children and youth with complex emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues is required
• A minimum of five (5) years of supervisory and/or management experience. Strong preference will be given to candidates who have supervisory experience in a residential or foster care setting
• Strong preference will be given to candidates who are PRIDE pre-service facilitators as well as experience doing PRIDE assessments, or other in-depth biopsychosocial assessments would be considered an asset

Additional Requirements:
• Clear Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from RNC/RCMP
• Child Protection Clearance Check granting clearance
• Valid Newfoundland and Labrador Driver’s License
• Drivers Abstract
• Valid Proof of Canadian Residency
• Access to a personal vehicle and $2 Million Business Liability

Key Assets Newfoundland and Labrador offers:

$93,654)
