Custodian – Permanent Part Time Position

Permanent Part Time Position
The Custodian will be essential in promoting a healthy, well-kept atmosphere for Key Assets. They will be dedicated, detail oriented and responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment at the head office location. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to cleanliness and attention to detail to be successful in this position.
Core Duties:
•Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming of floors and surfaces.
•Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas by restocking supplies and ensuring sanitary conditions.
•Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify additional cleaning and maintenance needs.
•Dispose of waste materials in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
•Follow established cleaning schedules and protocols to ensure efficiency and thoroughness.
•Collaborate with the Senior Office Manager to ensure that all cleaning duties are completed in a timely manner.
•Must be able to lift and move items as necessary, adhering to health and safety guidelines.Education & Experience:
To be successful in this role, the candidate is required to have:
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Recent work experience in a commercial cleaning environment.
•Knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment and materials.
•Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) certificate.
•The ability to take direction as well as complete assigned tasks and work independently to perform duties in the workspace of other employees.

Education & Experience:
To be successful in this role, the candidate is required to have:
• Diploma/degree in child and youth care or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 1-year related work experience in working with children, youth and families.
• Ability to demonstrate experience of working with children and youth with challenging behavior.
• Have sound knowledge of Child Protection Legislation, Regulations, Policy and Procedures, and clinical practices associated with working with children, youth and families.
• Valid Crisis Prevention and Intervention certification (CPI, TCI or UMAB), ASIST, would be an asset.Additional Requirements:
• Clear Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from RNC/RCMP.

Required Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, the candidate is required to have:- A minimum of 2-years’ experience in a providing support, mentorship, coaching, teaching, and guidance.
- Familiarity in working with young people that have experienced trauma, and present with challenging and complex behaviors.
- A diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, work and volunteer experience in a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to work therapeutically with children, youth, and their families with an ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Understanding of family functioning and group dynamics, trauma-informed practices, behavior management techniques, and excellent communication skills.
- Standard First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain).
