Julia provides assessment and treatment to youth (aged 8+), adults (under 65), and families. Areas of clinical focus include mood and anxiety disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD and learning disorders), childhood trauma related to developmental, sexual and physical abuse and neglect, and child/adolescent development. Julia’s clinical practice is strongly informed by research and practice in the areas of developmental trauma (Van der Kolk; Burnell), neuroscience (Perry; Porges; & Siegel) somatic experience (Levine; Levin& Kline), sensorimotor psychotherapy (Ogden, Minton & Pain), sensory nitration (Ayers) and family-focused attachment-based approaches to psychotherapy (Hughes; Booth & Jernberg). Julia’s primary modalities of intervention include psychodynamic psychotherapy, dyadic developmental psychotherapy, neuro-physiological psychotherapy, attachment-based play, and cognitive psychotherapy.

Julia is passionate and dedicated to her work with children and adolescents who have experienced significant trauma within the context of their early life; specifically, those who have been or who are activity in the public care systems.
