Susan Duggan, B.S.W, M.S.W, is a Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in the areas of Mental Health and Addictions, Community Corrections, and Youth Services.  Susan draws on a number of therapeutic approaches in her social work practice and will tailor her approach to meet the unique needs of the individuals and families with whom she is working. While Susan has experience and training in a number of therapeutic approaches, she believes that the most important aspect of any intervention is the therapeutic relationship and creating a safe, supportive environment.  Susan’s overarching therapeutic framework is trauma-informed, attachment-based, and strengths-based.  She has training and work experience offering Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) on an individual and group basis and finds this approach particularly helpful for individuals who may be struggling with difficulties managing emotions.  Susan views her role as working together to enhance capacity to cope with life’s challenges and ultimately, restore and improve functioning in various life areas.

Areas of Specialization: Emotion regulation, anxiety, depression, anger/aggression, trauma, self-harm, suicidality, interpersonal relationship difficulties, addictions, and LGBTQ issues.  Extensive experience working with children and adolescents.
